January 8, 2011 Meeting Newsletter
EITHER YOU RUN THE DAY OR THE DAY RUNS YOUIt was very good to see some old friends as we had a round table meeting where everyone got to talk.
Sally opened the meeting by mentioning a few new things that we will incorporate into future meetings. We will now open every meeting with an inspirational saying. Let us know if you have any favorites to share. When we have a big group we will use a timer so that each person gets equal time to talk. Each meeting will end with a grateful heart message from all. These small changes will add to the positive tone we strive to maintain.
As usual many topics were discussed and we all learned new things.
CCSVI – John Shaw had the procedure a month ago and all of us who know him were stunned when he walked in the door, with his arm crutches, standing erect and walking at a good clip. He told us his story about how his feet were warm immediately afterward. As with Patricia, his visual clarity made him think he didn’t need glasses anymore until he looked at his watch and couldn’t read the time! Previously, he could only sleep in his recliner a couple of hours at a time and now he is back in bed for six hour stretches. His foot drop is greatly diminished and he found a big flight of stairs to try. He climbed them one foot at a time and was so happy he went for a couple more trips and continues to climb these stairs as part of his new exercise regimen. These are just a couple of the “small” things he is experiencing. His wife Sue is aware of the changes even more so than he is. We say, Go John!!!
Everyone there agreed that we need to do all we can to get this procedure done locally so more can take advantage of this. We will focus our efforts at educating local vascular doctors about the protocol and benefits seen so far.
Gayle talked to us about an ECP treatment she had done for a heart issue that increased blood flow in her veins and really improved her energy level. We are starting to hear allot about vascular procedures having good results for people.
We discussed medications, insurance & MRI’s. Lots of information was shared.
Looking forward it was suggested that we improve our internet forum to allow for better communication and we need an insurance speaker, We will get on this and would like to hear from anyone with more suggestions.
Our meeting next month will be on the second Saturday, Feb 12th due to conflicts. We will have another round table and look forward to the inspiring topics that are sure to arise.
Until Then,
Be Well
