Mmmm, Mmmm Good!
Breakfast at The Country Kitchen was so delicious and everyone who came enjoyed not only the food, but also the opportunity to visit in a non-structured environment. As usual conversation hopped from one thing to another in between bites!
Conversation at our end of the table seemed to be dominated by plain old “horse sense”. Many have begun riding the therapy horses and it is hard not to talk about them once you have done it. So many senses come alive by doing something you may have thought impossible. Holly Singleton knows how to match riders with horses and from the very beginning when she & her helpers lift your legs onto the horse the feeling of magic surrounds you. As a beginner, just basic walking & turns in the arena wake up your muscles that may have been dormant for some time. It doesn’t take long before she has you holding arms out while the horse walks or turning circles. All of this is so good for balance & core strengthening. Some more advanced riders just go off riding the trails without assistance. One thing for sure is that it makes you really live and focus “in the moment” and it is a good thing.
As usual, there was talk of doctors and some people who have reached out beyond our community have discovered some real quality care. There has been a topic started in the forum at http://www.hope4ms.org to exchange this information. If you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to go to the forum and in the upper right corner click on “sign in” and share your doctor thoughts. We all want to know and this is a great place to do it.
By a show of hands, it was decided that we would play Bingo at our next meeting on August 2nd and have some fun. Hope to see you there.
Here’s to good health,
Patricia, Beth & Robyn
