Good Meeting

Saturday Nov. 5th we met for a couple hours of sharing and looking forward. The round table discussion included comparing day to day issues like cognitive problems, fatigue, medications, vision challenges, sleep patterns and more. We all share many of these MS related symptoms and bringing them up at group allows for solutions to arise from others who have found ways to deal with them.

Some useful ideas included Z-Coil shoes for propulsion, tall walking sticks to aid balance while walking, prisms in glasses to eliminate double vision and learning to work with others to fill those lapses in memory.

The question as to what people want from the support group in the future was answered by several accolades to how it has been run in the past with horseback riding & kayaking getting a big thumbs up. Good speakers, especially local, are a draw as well as the round table discussions that open up our common interests. Historically we know that good outside speakers are a big draw as well.

We are always trying to come up with ideas for programs that our MS group can work on together for community awareness and will put effort into that one this coming year.

Next month is December and time for our annual Christmas breakfast. This year on December 3rd we will be at Marie Callenders in the atrium from 9:30 to 12:30. Please come for this annual gathering hosted by HOPE 4 MS and see old friends and meet new ones too! This will be a RSVP function and we will send out more information later.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and be well!
