September 2006 Newsletter

Hello Everyone!

We want to apologize for any confusion about our meeting date in September, for anyone who didn’t receive our notices. Because of the Labor Day weekend, we had our meeting on September 9th. What a meeting it was! Our guest speaker was Bob McGrath.

Bob works as a Certified Practioner of the “Feldenkrais Method of Movement Education.” This Method of Physical Therapy was developed by Moshe Feldenkrais, who was an engineer and physicist. He teaches how to move with less effort as you focus on the relationship between movement and thought, and that increased mental awareness and creativity accompany physical improvements. Learning Feldenkrais exercises can sometimes help with fatigue and cognitive issues.

After Bob showed us one example, using eye movement, he answered questions, and called upon a couple of our own members who have experienced help and relief by using this therapy. If you are interested in learning more, you can contact Bob at “All About Movement”, 222-3622.

We would also like to thank Todd Provence, the Pfizer representative, for donating bagels, fruit, and drinks for our meeting.

Our next meeting will be Saturday, October 7th, from 10am to 12pm. This is our 2nd Anniversary meeting, so we hope to see you there. We may have another guest speaker and CAKE!!
